Privacy Policy

Newsletter signups. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the consent wording shown to you when you signed up, the page you signed up from, and the dates you signed up, confirmed and (if you do) unsubscribed. We send a confirmation email first and add you to the list only after you click the confirm button.

Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, company, email address and message by email; if you email us directly, we receive your message and address. We keep them so we can reply.

Experts and reviewers. If you are listed in our expert directory or review entries for us, we store your profile (such as your name, firm, credentials and a short bio), the entries assigned to you and your review decisions. Profile details are shown publicly on the site. We email you a sign-in link when you ask for one.

Technical logs. Like most websites, our hosting providers record basic request information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems. This includes requests to our public data API.

You do not need an account to read this site, use the Climate Tracker or the Regulatory and Rebate Hub, and we do not ask you for personal information to do so.

This site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies or tracking pixels. The only cookie it sets is a sign-in cookie for experts and reviewers who sign in, which keeps them signed in for a few hours. If that changes, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

We use your email address to send the newsletter you asked for and the confirmation and unsubscribe messages that go with it, to send sign-in links to experts and reviewers, and to reply to messages you send. We use logs to run and secure the site. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

We use service providers to run the site: a hosting provider, a database provider, and an email delivery provider that sends the newsletter on our behalf. They process information only to provide those services. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link, and the unsubscribe button works without logging in. After you unsubscribe we keep your address on a suppression record so we do not email you again.

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by contacting us at our contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws, and we will honor them.

We keep newsletter records while you are subscribed and for as long afterward as we need to honor your unsubscribe and to keep a record of your consent. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our providers.

This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
